The number one question I ask to start a conversation with someone is: If you could Land anywhere right now, where would it be and why? It is great to see what people are feeling, what they prioritize, and the exciting stories of why. Even if you ask the same people, they will give different answers because it depends on where they are now and how they feel. You could ask someone on vacation, and they could say home. You can ask someone coming from work, and they could tell a break. Then it also depends on what is happening in the area they consider where they could land.
The number one answer in an airport, from my experience, is out of the airport. Usually, if you are in the airport with the time to ask that question, you want to be anywhere but in an airport. All you want to do is get on a plane somewhere.
Try it out next time you travel. It makes excellent conversation for any setting if you are at a dining table and need help figuring out what to do while waiting for the food.
If I could land anywhere right now, it would be the Ala Moana Beach Park to sit on the beach of the laguna and feel the soft waves. It brings me peace just thinking of it.
